Sartorial aces from March’s best dressed men
Last month’s best dressed gents had one thing in common; outstanding outerwear. From A$AP Rocky’s fur jacket to Drake’s baby pink puffer, every man of the month was making a case for standout jackets and coats. This month, spring styles have emerged, from all black ensembles to a masterclass in mixing denim and suiting, here’s what the men of March have to offer:
Tyga dropped his usual bold hues for something more minimal in the face of transitional weather, building his outfit around a black pair of shorts and pairing them with a long-sleeve graphic tee and a backwards cap for added cool-factor. His long white socks help to bridge the gap between shorts and trousers while adding a fresh pop of white to an otherwise all black outfit. Solid.
This outfit just proves that a denim jacket can complete your spring kit. This combination of a well fitted denim jacket over breezy trousers is a lesson in seasonal layering done right; Ryan’s mix of textures and layers keeps the all blue ensemble from being boring. Breaking up the blue-everything with a pair of white sneaks is an essential move for any man looking to master that fresh spring feel.
Yup, A$AP is back on our list again, this time with strong holiday style. Loose, light cream trousers are an essential part of keeping cool and looking fresh this season. A$AP has spiced up an otherwise all-neutral outfit by working in some subtle pattern with a stripy long sleeved top and a customised white denim jacket. This is one holiday look we’ll be copping – and copying – this spring.
Just one Gucci item is enough to elevate any outfit, so when Jared Leto dons a Gucci overcoat, Gucci trainers and a Gucci top in a single ensemble – just plain greedy really – it’s bound to steal the style spotlight. Nautical nuances are the key to this look but you don’t have to have a Gucci budget to get it, simply source a slim-striped long sleeve top and a navy double breasted coat and you’re there. Finish with black patent shoes or white sneaks depending on your desired level of polish.
Modern-day prophet Jaden Smith usually sticks to eccentric but wearable street style tricks, but being on the front lines of Louis Vuitton’s AW17 show calls for something, dare we say it, elegant. A checked mac is a considered spring classic, but Jaden’s green wide-leg trousers are what truly deserve the spotlight here. Breezy, wide-leg and coloured in a refreshing shade of green, they’re fashion forward without being too ‘out there’- and we want a pair.
